Through The Eyes Of A Child, originally released simply as Through The Eyes, is one of three songs in a collection nicknamed "Lost Jem Songs" performed by Major Minor (Britta Phillips & Ned Liben). It was released as a single on vinyl in 1984 with an instrumental version on its B-side. It was considered lost until Britta uploaded the collection onto her husband's website, DeanWareham.com. This is one of the songs Britta recorded that helped her land the role of Jem on the show.[1]
Lyrics[]
Visions breeding from intuitions I see the child inside Trying not to die And I know what I would be If only I could see I want to see (I am a child) I want to see through the eyes of a child I want to see (I am alive) I want to see through the eyes of a child Through the eyes of a child Fate has finally Slammed the door on me Searching for the key It's all a mystery Now I'm lost at sea I know I'll never (know I'll never be) I want to be, yeah (I am a child) I want to see through the eyes of a child I want to see (I am alive) I want to see through the eyes of a child Through the eyes of a child [Guitar solo] I want to see (I am a child) I want to see through the eyes of a child I want to see (I am alive) I want to see through the eyes of a child Through the eyes of a child I want to see (I am a child) I want to see through the eyes of a child I want to see, yeah (I am alive) I want to see through the eyes of a child Through the eyes of a child See through the eyes of a child Through the eyes of (through the eyes) of a child
