Meanwhile, Video introduces the band to Danse, a talented dancer who has a special request for them. And Eric hires a new secret weapon to make trouble for his rivals.
Plot[]
Krissie is brushing Ba Nee's hair as Deirdre strums a guitar, and are discussing practicing to get better, when they realize Lin-Z TV is about to begin. It turns out that both Jem and The Holograms and The Misfits are both nominees for the Best New Rock Band Award. While The Holograms celebrate, The Misfits are sulking at Gabor Mansion over the fact they lost Starlight Music and no longer have a recording contract. Pizzazz finds her father to convince him to buy her a music company so Eric Raymond can promote them before the voting begins. To get her out of his hair, he brushes her off and tells her to buy whatever she wants. Pizzazz returns to the group and gives them the good news.
Jerrica and The Holograms take the Starlight Girls back-to-school shopping and She Makes An Impression plays. Afterward, Deirdre attempts to show Jerrica a costume just like Jem's, but is quickly dismissed because Jerrica is already occupied. Once Jerrica is back at Starlight Music, Joanie arrives to inform her with some bad news; that Misfits Music is setting up directly across the street from her company. Jerrica rushes over and discovers Eric's secretary, with Eric himself not far behind. The Misfits gloat, and joke that she can come and work for them when she's put out of business. As she walks away, Techrat sets up the billboard above Misfits Music, and the animation plays, much to Jerrica's annoyance.
Jerrica gathers The Holograms for a meeting with Synergy, when Deirdre asks her to listen to a new sample on her guitar. Jerrica brushes her off yet again, and Deirdre seems irritated that she's always busy. Eric meets with Techrat in the parking lot as he has a prototype of a new gadget he's been working on nicknamed the "Jammer". The Misfits jump into the car, and they drive off. At the, the Holograms decide to get Synergy to create new costumes and special effects. Eric parks outside Starlight Mansion, and Techrat turns on the Jammer which makes all the electrical appliances in the mansion go haywire, including Synergy's lasers and the girls duck for cover. Pizzazz fights for power over the Jammer, and accidentally drops it out of the car window, rendering it useless. They drive off while Synergy analyzes her powers, stating the interference was from an outside source. The Starlight Girls try to get Jerrica's attention by questioning the power outage, but she is already late for something. Deirdre complains to the other girls that Jerrica never pays attention to them anymore. Ashley scoffs at this, reminding her that Jerrica works hard to support them, but Deirdre insists that even Jem could make time for them.
The Holograms pull up to Video's house who introduces Jem and The Holograms to her friend Danse after she dances to "When It's Only Me And The Music", showing her new routine. Danse shows the band around Haven House, which is a safe house for runaway teens and requests Jem's help. She asks the band to perform a concert at a benefit she'd recently arranged in order to get money for the kids. and they agree immediately. They go back to Starlight Mansion to begin planning the event. Jem and Rio get into a fight about the new effects she wants to add to the act as she can't tell him that the effects are created by Synergy. Deirdre interrupts them, but when Jem slams the door in her face, she starts to cry. Rio and Jem make up, as they understand their friendship is more important than a light-show. In the mean time, Deirdre decides to run away and Ba Nee wants to join her. Krissie also joins to keep an eye on them and leaves Jerrica a note. At a suburban house, an angry and abusive father throws his son, Danny, out of the house, yelling that he was getting sick of him.
At Starlight Music, Jerrica invites Danse, Video and Lindsey Pierce to a meeting about the benefit and awards. Jerrica quickly changes into Jem and uses Synergy to make a hologram of Jerrica and returns to the meeting. Lindsey takes the new bill for the benefit to do some last minute promotion, when she realizes that the Haven House Benefit is on the same night as the Music Awards, and that missing the awards ceremony would hurt her reputation and possibly forfeit the award. She apologizes to Danse and backs out, who says she sadly understands. Without knowing, the three Starlight Girls run away to The Misfits and they agree to "help" them out, although they have an ulterior motive. Stormer guards the van that the girls climb into, while Pizzazz calls social services and anonymously report that Jerrica is mistreating her Starlight Girls. She tells the social worker, Jack Sobieski, that three of them have run away and he decides to investigate Jerrica.
Jerrica finally has time to listen to Deirdre's song, and goes to her room to call her - but discovers the room is empty, save for the remains of posters scattered on the floor. Ashley hands her the note that was written by Krissie to let her know they'd run away. The Misfits keep the three Starlight Girls busy with chores around the house, blackmailing them with a reward of seeing their concert. They plot to keep the runaways out of sight for a while until Jerrica gets in trouble with the services. The Holograms search everywhere for the missing girls, such as local hot-spots and their usual places to visit, but there's no trace of them. Feeling guilty for ignoring them, Jem calls Danse and tells her that they'll perform at the benefit concert because they learned the hard way that some things are more important than awards.
At The Misfits concert, a teen named Mick is selling last minute tickets for 50 bucks. A rock fan runs into him, and knocks the tickets out of his hand. The boy who was seen getting kicked out of the house by his father earlier is there, and speeds away with a ticket in his hand. Mick runs after him, but the boy hands in his ticket and escapes. The concert is starting and in the middle of the crowd, the three Starlight Girls are unable to see over people's heads. They spot someone climbing up a speaker scaffolding in order to see the show better, and decide to follow after him while The Misfits perform I Am A Giant. Krissie lets everyone know that she doesn't like it up that high and starts to climb back down, but her foot slips and begins to fall.

- When Pizzazz talks to her father, his hair alternates from gray to brown.
Trivia[]
- Danse, Danny and Techrat are introduced in this episode, as well as The Misfits' new music company, Misfits Music.
- In the original script, when Synergy malfunctions due to Techrat's jammer, Jerrica reflects the lasers using a special mirror, but Christy Marx assumes this was cut out due to the episode's running time limit.
- Techrat was written to eventually replace Zipper as Eric Raymond's main henchman.
- Jerrica and Danse have something in common, as both are young women that help to run charitable organizations.
- "When It's Only Me And The Music" is one of the very few Jem songs that are dedicated to Danse.
- When Roxy yelled at Krissie for her ungrateful attitude after taking them in, this might possibly stem from the fact that she was once a runaway as well, although this is mere speculation.
