The Jazz Player is the eleventh episode of the second season, and the 37th episode overall, of the Jem animated series.
Synopsis[]
Jem and The Holograms try to get jazz Taps Tucker Band from the '40s to reunite their members and have an album deal with Mark Rockwell. However, if The Holograms don't find the quartet and reunite them in time, the deal defaults to Eric Raymond.
Plot[]
Legendary trumpet player, Taps Tucker, is humiliated on the Lindsey Pierce show when The Misfits crash his interview and harass him. Outraged, Jem and The Holograms visit Taps and offer to help him put his famous Taps Tucker Band back together.
A record producer interested in putting out a jazz album gives The Holograms twenty-four hours to reunite the group before he closes a deal with Eric Raymond instead. Eric, determined to get his own jazz album produced, enlists The Misfits to help him prevent them from tracking down the other musicians in time.

Quotes[]
- Stormer: Pizzazz isn't gonna like this. But I don't care!
Goofs[]
- The hologram of the trumpet should have disappeared as soon as Jem's earrings left the room. Instead, there's a delay of a few seconds before it vanishes.
Trivia[]
- "Jack, Take A Hike" was first sung in the episode Old Meets New.
- The first episode since the series premiere to feature two Misfits' songs and only one by Jem and The Holograms.
- This episode marks one of the few times Stormer acts to protect The Holograms. When Stormer sees Aja and Joey O'Toole being pursued by loan sharks, she follows unseen. As Aja and O'Toole realize they're trapped in a blind alley as the loan sharks close in, Stormer uses a brick to smash a window in a derelict building. The loan sharks, believing that Aja and O'Toole caused the window to break, move in the direction of the sound as Stormer hides. This momentary distraction allows Aja and O'Toole to escape, unaware of Stormer's presence.
