Solieri is a minor character in the Jem animated series. He is a music composer in Vienna in the year 1781 and rival to Wolfgang Mozart.
He was voiced by Wally Burr.
History[]
Prodigious music composer Wolfgang Mozart is scheduled to perform to his eminence the Emperor under invitation of the Archbishop at the royal musical hall. However, jealous rival composer Solieri won't stand with his arms crossed and will do anything on his power to prevent Mozart from attending this compromise. For this effect, he hires two thugs to kidnap Mozart before the concert starts, while Solieri plans to take his place and perform for the Emperor himself.
Noticing Solieri's men outside Mozart's house, Jem –who along the other Holograms landed in that place and time thanks to Techrat's "Time Travel Device"– asks Synergy to project a hologram over Shana to make her look like Mozart. Shana and the rest of the girls then exit the house and are in fact taken away by the minions in a carriage, while the real Mozart slips away and heads to the royal concert hall.
At the concert, Solieri is already onstage and ready to start performing, with visible displeasure of the Emperor toward the Archbishop, who promised that Mozart would be the one performing; when suddenly Mozart cimbs on the stage while a couple of guards take Solieri away. He then starts performing with great approval of the audience.
The Holograms, on their part, decide the charade has gone long enough and Jem asks Synergy to project holograms of highwaymen on the road to scare away Solieri's thugs. Having the coast clear, they also head toward the royal concert to attend Mozart's performance.
