Red Johnny Mac, known by the stage name of Beast during the production of the play Beauty and the Beast, is a minor character in the Jem animated series. He stars in the 57th episode, Beauty and the Rock Promoter. He is an eccentric man and an aspiring producer.
History[]
Johnny invites Jem and The Holograms to star in his new and upcoming musical production of Beauty and the Beast, with Jem playing the role of 'Beauty'. He decided to produce the rock opera when he was accosted by Harold and his thugs, who he owed a lot of money, and promised to get Jem to star in the show.
When he first meets Jem and The Holograms, he is enchanted by them. He secretly plays the role of 'Beast' in the production and shows he is a very talented man. However, throughout the rehearsal process, he runs Jem and The Holograms ragged, leaving them sleep deprived. For a few moments in the episode, Jem seems slightly delirious and becomes obsessed with the Beast, although once she finds out it is Johnny in the costume, she resumes her normal state and they become firm friends. Johnny's production takes off, meaning he is able to pay off his debt and stay wealthy.
Appearance[]
Johnny has red-orange hair and blue eyes, with an eccentric style; a purple shirt, a gray blazer and bright orange patterned shorts.
