Mildred Llewelyn is a minor character in the Jem animated series. She is Mr. Llewelyn's wife and Riot's mother. She was introduced in the 6th episode of Season 3, "Riot's Hope".
History[]
When Riot comes back home to show his parents that The Stingers have cut their first album, Mildred is thrilled, although her husband, Mr. Llewelyn, is the complete opposite. Rory (Riot's real name) and his father get into a big fight, which causes Mildred to fall ill and land in the hospital.
Later in the episode, Jem goes to the hospital to check on Mildred and asks her to tell her her side of the story between her husband and her son's animosity. Mrs. Llewelyn tells her that she's very tired, "tired of trying to hold together a family that's come apart at the seams".
Jem tries to mend things up between Rory and his father. She visits Mr. Llewelyn at his house and tells him that it took Rory a lot of hard work to get where he is now; and after some reluctance from Mr. Llewelyn, she convinces him to go to his next concert.
At the concert, Mr. Llewelyn witnesses by himself how Riot's performance has a great and positive impact on the audience, and finally realizes that his son is indeed really talented. He goes to see him after the show, where he asks him for forgiveness and finally makes peace with him. Both then go see Mildred at the hospital to give her the good news. While not shown onscreen, it's implied that Mildred soon recovered.
