~ Miguel's catchphrase |
Miguel is a minor character in the Jem animated series. He is an assistant director working at World Studios. He acts as Eric Raymond's direct assistant during the filming of the movie Starbright.
History[]
Miguel is an assistant director of Latin origin working at the World Studios film production company. He only appears during the "Starbright" three-episodes story arc, where he is under Eric Raymond's direct orders after Harvey Gabor bought the company for his daughter, Pizzazz.
Unfortunately for him, he has to endure Eric's constant abuse and is blamed for almost everything that goes wrong during the filming of the movie Starbright. Nevertheless, he always acts very professionally and is very dedicated to his work, all with the aim of taking the filming of the movie to a good end and under the planned schedule... or as good as these can be with these bosses.
Later on, he, along with most of the crew, quits the production due to the unfavorable working conditions under Raymond's management, and goes to work at Starlight Mansion to finish the film independently and for free.

Trivia[]
- Whenever Miguel is left with no other option but to comply with Eric Raymond's absurd demands, he replies with a long "Riiight..." spoken in an unamused and slightly sarcastic tone.
- Miguel makes a couple of cameo appearances in two music videos: "Universal Appeal" by The Misfits, and "Love Is Doin' It To Me" by Jem and The Holograms.
- In the music video for "Love Is Doin' It To Me", Miguel's face appears among other men's faces on the reels of a giant slot machine-like game during the part of the video dedicated to Aja, implying that he could be one of her romantic prospects.
- This is further supported as according to notes of the episode's storyboard, he is one of the men in Aja's life.
