Liz Stratton is a minor character in the Jem animated series. She is a famous actress whose self-centered demeanor departs a long way from her acting star icon status.
She was voiced by Marlene Aragon.
History[]
Liz Stratton only appeared during the "Talent Search" arc in the Jem animated series, when Jem and The Holograms were looking for a new drummer to replace Shana, who had left the band in order to work for Mrs. Stratton as her personal fashion designer. However, not long after starting her new job, Shana realized Mrs. Stratton wasn't the kind and benevolent person she thought her to be and that instead was the complete opposite: a cold and egocentric woman who was convinced the world revolved around her, with no contempt in scolding others when things weren't done her way. Disappointed and not willing to take her constant abuse anymore, Shana decided to quit Mrs. Stratton's side and come to take her old place back with The Holograms.

Trivia[]
- Christy Marx instructed the animation artists to think of Joan Collins when designing this character. Joan Collins is an English actress who rose to fame during the 1950s and who had a resurgence during the 1980s, mostly known from her role as Alexis Colby in the soap opera Dynasty. Liz Stratton's role in the series, being a former film actress and now working on her new miniseries, would appropriately replicate Mrs. Collins's background.
- She also seems to take certain characteristics from Elizabeth "Liz" Taylor, a famous English-American film actress who became one of the most popular stars of classical Hollywood cinema in the 1950s.
- Taking this potential reference in consideration, her full name could be speculated to be "Elizabeth Stratton".
