Lena Lerner is a minor character in the Jem animated series. She is an audacious and talented singer and performer, and also the mother of Dominic, the hottest teen idol in town.
Lena was one of the guest music celebrities invited to perform at the "Jem Jam".
History[]
Lena is a widely popular music artist, known for her powerhouse vocals. She arrives at the Hollywood Hills party with her son, Dominic, among other guests, to participate in the "Jem Jam" event that will be thrown by Jem and The Holograms. Despite being a teen idol with a strong musical talent, she believes Dominic is irresponsible and doesn't let him perform at the Jem Jam. She also supports feminism, evidenced by how she scolds Dominic when he talks rudely to the Starlight Girls, as well as when teaming up with Lindsey Pierce to stop a bunch of thieves.
Appearance[]
Lena is of African-American descent. She can usually be seen wearing a tight and sparkly red nightdress and fashions a voluminous and wild hairstyle –somewhat resembling a lion's mane– sported in a dark brown color with lighter brown highlights, which added to her tall stature, adds to an imposing yet still attractive persona.
Personality[]
Lena is an elegant and courteous woman who knows how to properly behave among other people. She is especially amicable toward those that surround her and is always ready to deliver a well-timed and clever comment to spice up the moment. However, despite her gorgeous looks, she definitely isn't a pushover and is always ready to smack a few heads if the occasion demands it.
She can be a bit overprotective at times, especially toward her son Dominic, who has to bear the many rules she imposes on him, although always for his own good.
