Krissie is a character in the Jem animated series. She is one of the most responsible Starlight Girls and she always tries to be fair to everybody.
She was voiced by Cindy McGee.
History[]
Krissie has been living in the Starlight House ever since the day she was brought over, and she has made a lot of friends ever since, some of her closest ones being Ashley and Ba Nee.
She has gone through a few adventures of her own, like in the episode The Music Awards (Part 1), where she, Ba Nee and Deirdre ran away from home because the latter felt that Jerrica and the others didn't care about them. Krissie knew this wasn't true, but she nonetheless followed them to keep an eye on them.
She developed a friendship with Dominic Lerner,[2] despite their rough initial meeting,[3] where she dismissed him as a selfish, spoiled brat when he threw her out of her own room.
Like the rest of the Starlight Girls, Krissie helps out at Starlight Mansion, doing tasks such as serving refreshments at the press conference to announce the "Jem Jam",[3] passing out flyers for the Haven House benefit,[4] and posting posters during the "Starlight Talent Search".[5]
Appearance[]
Krissie usually wears her hair in a ponytail, but in some episodes, she is seen wearing pigtails, and she wears a blue vest with a white undershirt, and red pants and shoes. In the early concept of the series, she had very dark skin.
Personality[]
Krissie is often the voice of reason, and she usually follows the rules and never gets into trouble. She helps out like any other Starlight Girl, carrying simple tasks like passing out flyers for a concert, helping for "The Jem Jam", or when The Holograms won the Battle of the Bands, they held a party in the episode Starbright (Part 1): Falling Star. She can also be assertive when she needs to be.
Krissie also suffers from acrophobia (fear of heights), as seen when ascends scaffolding with Ba Nee and Deirdre in The Music Awards (Part 1), and when she follows Dominic Lerner up an electric tower in The Jem Jam (Part 2). Despite her greater sense of responsibility and maturity, as compared to the other Starlight Girls, she is still prone to reckless decisions. In both instances, she ascended the scaffolding of her own volition, failing to consider that her acrophobia would leave her panic-stricken.

- Krissie is afraid of heights and has displayed this phobia in at least two different occasions. In The Music Awards (Part 1), after climbing a speaker scaffolding, she lets everyone know that she doesn't like it up that high and starts to scooch back down, almost injuring herself in the process. In The Jem Jam (Part 2), she follows Dominic Lerner up an electricity tower, but stops midway paralyzed by fear, and Dominic helps her climb back down.
- In some episodes, she is shown fashioning pigtails instead of her usual ponytail.
- She enjoys painting.[6]
- Krissie was one of the three Starlight Girls to be adapted into a doll, the other two were Ashley and Ba Nee.
