Jolly Jack is a minor character in the Jem animated series. He is Robin Goodfellow's trusty sidekick in their quest to fight back the corrupt regime currently governing Carfax County.
History[]
Jolly Jack is Robin Goodfellow's trusty sidekick in their quest to fight back the corrupt regime that is currently governing Carfax County. He is first seen at a Renaissance fair, after a concert by Jem and The Holograms, when two guards are collecting taxes from the poor villagers and suddenly they are ambushed and "robbed" by Robin and Jack. Robin has the guards subdued at bow and arrow point while Jack takes their bags of money, leaving the girls thinking they're just a bunch of lousy thieves.
That night, however, the girls witness how Robin and Jack give the loot back to the villagers, which makes Danse (who was also in the group) think they might not be that bad after all.
The next day, Robin lets himself get apprehended during a bow and arrow tournament with the intention to look for evidence about Reginald Carfax's possible false title from within the castle; however, he isn't able to escape from his cell. The girls infiltrate the castle to look for him, where they are unexpectedly met by Jack, who also went in to look for Robin. After various vain attempts to release Robin from his cell, Jack uses his quarterstaff and great strength to bash on the cell's metal lock and release him.
Later on that night, Jack is seen helping the girls launch some fireworks filled with the unfairly collected taxes money at the castle as a distraction, while Robin makes a frontal assault, which ultimately results on the discovery of Reggie's false title and the reveal of the true heir.

Trivia[]
- Because of his role in Robin's band, his appearance and size, as well as how skilled he is in the use of the quarterstaff, Jolly Jack is likely inspired by Little John, who played a very similar role in Robin Hood's band of Merry Men.
