Connie Long is a minor character in the Jem animated series. She is the co-anchor of the popular rock music news show California Beat, which runs on Channel 82, interviewing the hottest musicians in the industry.
History[]
Connie hosts the popular news show California Beat with her co-anchor Terry Stone. The show is established for interviewing A-List and B-List celebrities that are notable within the rock music industry. At Venice Beach, Connie and Terry host a show where they interview Jem and The Holograms, The Misfits and Sean Harrison.
Connie and Terry are due to interview The Misfits first; however, the band's tardiness causes the show to change schedule and Sean is promptly called for his interview. One of Connie's questions is if Sean is looking to write a new song now that he's visiting Venice Beach, since he usually records other artists' material. He is the middle of answering when The Misfits noisily crash the set, and Connie appears to be disgruntled. She makes a few sarcastic comments, and Jetta takes the microphone right out of her hand to make up lies about The Misfits' plans while in town.
Connie and Terry then interview The Holograms, with Jem providing a thorough schedule of their next few days at Venice Beach, including attending the Roller Rock-Out with Sean Harrison, and appearing as special guests on The Harriet Horn Show. She then asks Raya how it feels to be the newest member of The Holograms, while Terry grills her about The Harriet Horn Show. When The Misfits watch back the interviews from California Beat, they realize that their segment has been cut out.
In Riot's Hope, Connie is invited to The Stingers' party at Stingers Sound to celebrate their success.
