The Chauffeur (unofficial name) is a minor character in the Jem animated series. He is an actor hired by The Misfits, pretending to be a car driver to try make Jem reveal her secret identity.
History[]
A day like any other, Jem is leaving the Starlight Music building, when suddenly a limousine arrives and its chauffeur tells her that "Kimber Benton" sent him there to drive her back to Starlight Mansion, and that this is part of her birthday present. Jem replies that it's not her birthday, and the driver says that he's only following Kimber's instructions, so Jem decides to play along and boards the limo.
During the trip, not recognizing the road the car is taking, Jem asks the driver if he's going in the right direction, and he replies that it's a shortcut. Suspicious, Jem tries to inquire him a bit more and tells him it's not her birthday, so the driver asks back when is it then, and Jem replies it's June 1st, but realizing she has already spoken too much, she quickly shuts herself up. The camera then pans down revealing a hidden microphone and recorder. It happens that the driver is actually an actor hired by The Misfits to try to make Jem reveal her real identity. Fortunately, he isn't able to obtain any further information and leaves her at an exact replica of Starlight Mansion, where other actresses impersonating the rest of The Holograms and the Starlight Girls are then tasked to keep trying to make her reveal more about herself.
