Aja is a character appearing in the 2015 musical, fantasy, adventure film, Jem and the Holograms, directed by Jon M. Chu. She is the main guitarist of The Holograms and is loosely based on the character of the same name from the original 1980s animated series, Jem.
She was portrayed by actress Hayley Kiyoko.
Plot[]
Aja was one of Aunt Bailey's two adopted daughters already living with her, the other being Shana. When Emmett died, his two surviving daughters, Jerrica and Kimber, went to live with them, all becoming one big family since then.
Unlike the character from the animated series, Aja has done some questionable things in the past (she mentions having been in juvenile hall and that she can't go back at the pier when the police arrive) and is a bit of a kleptomaniac.
